Letting go of your HS email and setting up a professional "branded email". You can have several email addresses all aggregated in a single home. One sign-in can access everything.

But now that you're acquiring your own domain names, you might like a branded email address like:
Wherever you're at, it's not hard to sort all of these things out. If you've still got that high school email address and lots of peeps know it, you don't have to delete it and start from scratch.
You can use a service like gmail and have other addresses forwarded there. You can setup your new branded email, and have it, and your old HS email, both accessed through, eg, gmail. So your 1 account accesses everything - no multiple signins or multiple sites to check.
I'm not a spammer
I've noticed that some email services are more fussy about what emails they'll let through. My own firstname.lastname@example.org goes through Yahoo Mail ok, but is often sent to spam folders by Microsoft Mail and Gmail. I've spent a fair amount of time with tech support trying to sort this out and it can still be problematic.
